Senior Delphi Developer

We are looking for an experienced Delphi developer to work on mature healthcare software products. The existing estate contains long-lived Windows applications and components where stability, performance and backward compatibility are critical. The work combines ongoing product engineering with gradual modernization of legacy code. The candidate must be located in EU.

Scope of Work

• Develop and maintain Delphi/Object Pascal applications and components
• Analyze existing code and understand complex business and application logic
• Diagnose and resolve performance, stability and production issues
• Refactor and modernize legacy Delphi code while maintaining functional compatibility
• Work with databases, external interfaces, Windows APIs and surrounding application components
• Support modernization and migration of legacy components toward newer architectures and technologies
• Collaborate closely with C++, .NET, Java, QA, architecture and product teams
• Improve code quality, automated testing and technical documentation
• Use modern development and AI-assisted engineering tools where appropriate

Must-Have Skills

• Several years of senior-level Delphi/Object Pascal development experience
• Strong experience with large Windows desktop applications
• Strong knowledge of Delphi application architecture and debugging
• Experience with VCL and common Delphi development patterns
• Experience maintaining and modernizing established production codebases
• Strong SQL/database knowledge
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in complex legacy environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with multiple Delphi versions and migration between Delphi generations
• Win32/Windows API experience
• COM/ActiveX integration experience
• Experience integrating Delphi applications with C++, .NET or Java components
• Oracle or other enterprise database experience
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD for Delphi projects
• Healthcare or regulated-software experience
• Experience with Claude Code, Codex or similar AI-assisted development tools

Languages

• Fluent English required
• German is an advantage
