Integration with Payment Gateway

WorldRemit engaged Patternica to build a tailored payment-gateway integration that would dramatically reduce transaction costs and improve payment flows. They required an architecture capable of handling high volumes, multiple currencies, global coverage and ultra-low latency.

This was one of the first large-scale enterprise projects for Patternica. We performed deep research of the existing WorldRemit architecture, compliance rules, regulatory requirements and gateway partner specifications (under NDA). The system was fully microservices based, so the integration required close work with multiple internal engineering teams, internal technical management and alignment across services.

We built a dedicated delivery team for this project: 1 Business Analyst, 1 Team Lead, 3 Developers and 1 Automation QA.

WorldRemit is a global money-transfer provider supporting millions of users across dozens of countries. With cross-border payments, speed, security and low cost are key differentiators.

High development standards were applied during delivery - automated testing, load testing, quality gates, CI/CD pipelines, performance validation and documentation processes - ensuring reliability, scalability and predictable behaviour under high transaction volume.

The full delivery cycle lasted around 1 year including development, rollout - operating almost as an internal engineering capability inside WorldRemit.
